Greenbelt, Md., August 16, 2017. Cybrary, the open-source cyber security and IT online learning and certification preparation platform, today announced that Co-Founder Ryan Corey has been named to the Board of Directors of the Incident Response Consortium.
The Incident Response Consortium is an educational, non-profit organisation focused on increasing awareness, cooperation and knowledge of incident response best practices across the cybersecurity community. It operates IncidentResponse.com as the central online resource for the community, and runs the free-to-attend IR-series conferences. IR17 is scheduled for 11 to 12 September at the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City, Virginia.
"Ryan's experience growing Cybrary's user base combined with his overall knowledge of the cyber security industry make him a valuable addition to the Incident Response Consortium Board of Directors," said Joseph Loomis, Founder of the Incident Response Consortium. "He will be instrumental in helping to expand and optimise our community as the leading online source for incident response learning and information sharing."
Cybrary will sponsor the IR17 conference. IR17 is organised by the Incident Response Consortium to promote education, collaboration and information sharing among the incident response community, and features keynote speakers including Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.
Since launching in 2015, Cybrary has trained nearly 1.5 million people on cyber security and IT skills. Through its open-source model, Cybrary is working to bridge the gap between open cyber security positions and experienced practitioners.
