A peer community for NEDs and Chairs of organisations where incident response sits on the board agenda. UK-first, regional Forums to follow.
Incident response is now a board-level concern in most organisations of meaningful size. NEDs and Chairs are asked to govern an exposure they often do not have hands-on experience of, with a peer group that has not historically convened around the subject.
The Boardroom Forum is the convening. A small, closed peer community of NEDs and Chairs whose boards are actively governing IR. It is not a training programme, not a vendor showcase, and not a generic "cyber for boards" event. It is the room where the people doing this work compare notes with the people doing this work.
Membership is invitation only. You can request an invitation through the form below, or be recommended by an existing member. Each application is reviewed by the convening committee. The intent is a Forum of around forty members at the UK level, with regional Forums to follow.
Twice-yearly breakfast meetings. Held in London for the UK Forum. Two and a half hours, no slides, three discussion sessions led by attendees on questions submitted the week before.
Closed peer channel. A members-only group for between-meeting conversations. Used sparingly, used well, and not used for anything that should be in a formal channel.
Two optional offsites a year. One in the UK, one international. Run by IRC with a small invited group of practitioners present alongside members.
Chatham House throughout. The Forum operates under the Chatham House Rule. What is shared in the room stays in the room.
No fee. The Forum is funded by IRC's founding partners and operating budget. Members are expected to attend, contribute to the agenda, and host or co-host one session over the course of their membership.
Invitations open this summer. The application form takes under five minutes. You can also request an introduction from a current member, or email boardroom@incidentresponse.com to have a conversation first.
