Thirty minutes a month, both ways.

For the bits that don't fit in a slide deck. IRC pairs practitioners with senior IR people for a video call a month, three months minimum, run by IRC rather than a platform. Applications for both sides are open now; first matches are made as the pool allows, expected this autumn.

How it works

  • Light matching, done by people. A short application on each side, matched by IRC on career stage, area and time zone. No algorithm, no swiping.
  • Thirty minutes a month. One video call, scheduled between the pair. More if both want it; never required.
  • Three months minimum, both sides. Long enough to be useful, short enough to say yes to. Continue past three months by mutual choice.
  • Mentees are Practitioner Members. Not one yet? The application takes a minute and decisions come back inside two weeks. Mentors are senior IR practitioners, member or not.
  • Private by default. What is said between mentor and mentee stays there. IRC checks in at the three-month mark and otherwise stays out of the way.

What it is not

Not coaching for a fee, not a recruitment channel, not a sales route. Mentors who pitch their firm's services are cycled out. The mentor's reward is the one every senior practitioner names: the industry handed them someone once, and this is the repayment.

Where the programme stands

This programme is new. Applications are open now on both sides, and matching starts once there are enough mentors to pair well, which we expect this autumn. Apply now and you are in the first round; we will email you before any match is proposed, and you can withdraw at any point.
